I love this picture...

We don't have Blue birds here in the Mid-West. In the South, there are many such birds.v I have a friend in the South who gave me this picture.

I'm attempting to get this over to Facebook so others can see what I am doing, so far, no go...
I have known many people in my life time, and many of them I really miss. One of the people I miss is Mike Marsh. he and ai went to high schol together. Mike was a good looking kid, blond headed, and had the look of an athelete. he was a naughty kid, but I liked him anyway. I should not have been surprised that he turned out to be a Salesman. As Quick witted as he was, how could he have done anything else for a living.
He died too soon. I was looking to go back to my old High school reunion when I received word that he had died.
Another high school chum was Mike Crabtree. I hear he had a stroke. That is horrible. He is a big man, or so I remember from about 40 years past.
I am still in contact with my friend, Pulford. he and I have been in contact with each other for over 40 years. Separated by distance, we e-mail one another. Pulford was one of the first to work on computers. Computers when he worked on them were as big as warehouses. I wrote him recently and asked if he ever thought those computers would be translated into what i am now typing on. He admitted that he had no idea atthe time that this was going to happen. Even as early as the late '70's computers were nothing more than electronic bulletin boards. It has changed, and I hope things become even more interactive than they are.
Ed Davis was a grammer school chum. We left Waverly about the same time. He is now in Texas. God help us all, I am in Kansas.

Last night, I was at CVS

Carol and I had to change doctors. Insurance made us do it. And while there, we had to get new prescriptions. I was heading for the check out stand when I saw Mike Capp. He and I used to work together at a local hospital. In fact, I got him the job. At first,I didn't recognize him. I called out," Mike," and he replied. He had changed over the years, twenty plus. So, I suppose I might not have been as easy to recognize either.
We shook hands. He had been drinking. This was something I had not expected. He was slightly tipsy. I could smell the booze on his breath. He slapped me on the back, saying," He was always a hard worker." Well, I had to work hard. I was handica[pped, and nothing came easy for me. He then left the drug store.

Bill Clinton Specioal on MSNBC

I wish I coul say I got a lot out of this program, but I did not. Clin6ton did a lot of moving around, and there were speeches he made, but I did nt see how he was helping people. Perhaps, his foundation, but not him.

Here is whyI I am discouraged....

I could make this like David letterman's Top Ten List.....
Number 10. I am old, and worried about my retirement.
Number 9. The only thing I have to look forward to is death.
Number 8-And Republicans do believe in death panels.
Number 7.- Most of my friends do not know what the Hell is going on...
Number 6. Has Canada solved this problem?
Number 5. Who are the Koch Brothers?
Number 4. Has anyone spotted the Democratic Senators who fled Wisconsin?
Number 3. Where is FDR when you need him?
Number 2. Forget it!
Number 1. Hey buddy can you spare a dime?

The Right Wing are taking away the rights of ordinary citizens

I will just parahrase. Democrats in the Wisconsin legislature fled so they would not be forced to vote on so9mething that will kill the average working person. If you care to go to the Ed Schultz show on MSNBC you can view ordinary citizens protesting . They want to keep their jobs. They want to receive the money they so honrestly deserve. Now, if you watch the lying Right Wing liars on Fox, they will call this workers out for greed or worse. Not so!
And friends, this is coming to a State near you. I fear what will happen in Kansas now that the same idiots controil both houses and the Governor's chair. We rree going to see cuts which hurt the average person. And let us not forget the old, retired, and the handicapped, their slated for the ax block too.

The revolution is coming, and I am still looking for a safe haven.

The Class of ' 64

In 1954, I came to what had been a sleepy little village until the government decided to build an Atomic plant near by. This created a boom in Real Estate.
My father was the minister of the Waverly Church of Christ. In 1954, there was ground, but no building. There wasn't much of a congregation either. The congregation met in the parsonage, a three bedroom house with a full sized basement. The bedrooms became class rooms, and downstairs was where people congregated. My job was to make sure there were enough folding chairs.
My new school was East Elementary. It is gone now, they tore it down on my birthdate in 1965. The town had grown so rapidly that the old school buildings were not large enough to house all of the new children. In fact, before this was built, students had to go to half days. Of course, that was done away with when the new East Elementary school was built.

The last town I had come from was New Vienna, Ohio, it was hardly the bustling community Waverly had. One summer, I heard the screams and hollering of children at play. I asked Mom if she heard it too, it escaped her attention, but not mine. (More later)

We missed seeing Corban....

We missed seeing Corban.  I suppose we will have to wait until next time.  Corban makes  five.  It is two boys, and three girls.  Drew is so much like his father.  He is just mischievous.  Last Thanksgiving, he wanted to play checkers. But rather than play on the red squares, he wanted to play on the black.  I don't see how this made any difference, but he beat me squarely.  I call him a con artist.  I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't grow up and go into Advertising.  All of his kids are special, I just hope he has no more.

My Grandfather Parsons had seven kids; Mom, Nell, June, Sina, Bobby, Henry, Howard, and Kenneth.  My Grandfather had no more than a third grade education, but he was a tool and die man, he could make anything.  He was a welder, and a well driller.  He taught all his sons the trade.  Kenneth did not care for the rough life of a well driller, and so he became a school teacher.  He did rather well, at least, he kept a roof over his head.  In fact, Grandpa had water, electricity, and conveniences when others did not.  He raised chickens, and had gardens, and all of that.  Money was hard to come by, but even in those lean years, he had a car.
So perhaps Dan will be like his great Greadpa.  He has taken after his Grandpa, what is it with the Justice clan and pleaching?
Kenneth even for a time tried to Preach, but it never took.  I believe the bottle had more influence over him than the Bible.  I do think that is what killed him.   He died at a horrible young age.
Grandpa had a bottle of Old GrandDad by his bed, but he just took one shot a nght before he went to sleep.  I never saw the man drunk.
Now Uncle Bobby, I had seen him drunk on many ocassions.  But, now he too is dead.
Howard is a self appointed know it all, who knows nothing.  He is smart, but stupid at the same time.  When I asked about one of his boys, if he was sending him to school, he replied that he was going to let him work in the mines.  I told him they would try to kill him, which they did try, he was injured, and was never whole after the accident in the mines.
